I never heard this one, although I knew that Johnny Cash often stood up for what he believed. a great story on Salon about how Cash brought Indigenous issues to a White House much different than the one with today’s resident. The story was probably sparked by Obama’s invitation to Native Americans to spend a day with him discussing things long overlooked and ignored.
